It is finally here, Yes it feels like it took forever, yes we still need a playoff, but in one way or another a national champion in major college football will be crowned tonight at the Rose Bowl. The Texas Longhorns are lucky to be here, Bama has been the best team all season long and you have two of the great college football players in recent memory going in this one that should be a dandy into the early morning on Friday. Bama RB Mark Ingram and Texas QB Colt McCoy have had unbelievable careers and will look to cap it off by helping their school win college footballs ultimate prize. The old adage is that defense wins championships and Bama will look to keep that going as they bring in one of the great college football defenses in recent years and will face off against a Texas offense that has the ability to score at will. This game is going to some down to which teams offense can break thru first and keep the momentum going as we know both these teams can play some tough hard nosed defense that can control a game. There are just so many weapons on both sides of the ball that it is tough to make a runaway case for either side. That being said I just see too much going in the favor of The Tide to not side with them in this one. Bama is a team that all season long found a way to win in games that looked lost and in most others just punished the other team into submission early and often and left no doubt they were the far superior team on the field. I think we are going to see offensive fireworks from both sides as Bama can run the ball like hell with Ingram and have a great WR core and with the much improved play of QB Greg McElroy could be the difference in this game. McCoy will go out in a fury , but with the way the Bama D has taken down high potent offensive teams , its going to be mighty tough for Texas to win this one. I think we will see a fabulous end to the 2009 college football season, with Bama showing once again why they are the best in the nation, but with us wondering like we do everyday WHY THE H WE CAN'T HAVE A PLAYOFF 5 MUGS OF EGG NOG ON BAMA(WITH A COOL OLD SCHOOL FEDORA FROM GENE STALLINGS AND BEAR BRYANT) -SMALL PLAY ON THE OVER 46.5
