The Colts proved again that they are one of the great teams of the last decade by pushing thru adversity after their shot at a perfect season ended by the same team they needed to beat to get to Miami. Peyton Manning is simply incredible and the Colts D came up huge against a Jets team that a couple years from now could be the best ion the league and this season was a couple of plays away from maybe making it to the Super Bowl. Colts first year coach Jim Caldwell has done a masterful job taking the reins from Tony Dungy and has his team believing that they are the best in football and for much of the season they were. It will be a monumental task to beat the surging Saints in Miami, but with Manning under center and the offensive weapons he has at his disposal how could you not like your chances if you love the Blue and White. I mean this guy is simply one of the best to ever play the game, but some of the mistakes he has made, which on my count has cost his teams at least two Super Bowl berths, are just inexcusable. I know Brett is the ultimate riverboat gambler and always gives his team a chance to win no matter how bad the odds. But what happened at the end of the NFC Championship game, just boggles the mind. It was an amazing game no matter who you were rooting for , but Favre both kept the Vikes in the game when all look lost and in essence lost it for him with two huge picks and a fumble. Now we get 5 months of will he play or will he go , a favorite tune of the Clash, but not of millions of football fans everywhere. I set the odds at Favre is coming back -250$ and Favre making his decision on the eve of training camp or later at -1000$ Is Mark “Dirty” Sanchez the real Deal? Obviously its way to early to tell, but whether he is the second coming of Joe Namath or not, if the Jets D plays like they did this late season into the playoffs and the offense continues to progress, this team will be scary for the next decade. The Jets already one of the leagues youngest teams, can only get better and with T-Rex Ryan at the helm this team has great things in store for them. My wool cap is off to the Jets as they gave us all something to believe in this season and showed us why the game of football and sports in general are so great. This game should be much different and while we won’t know the predicted weather forecast for a few days, we can predicted offensive fireworks as the leagues top two offense face off in what could end up being one of the better Super Bowls of all time. This is the first time the Saints have made it to the biggest stage in the world, but if their D plays the way it did for most of the game against Minnesota , yes they might give up some points, but they will rattle Peyton Manning's cage and that could end up being the difference. So much more to come on this game, but as a snap reflex how can you not love the team of destiny, especially with 5 plus points too boot.
