Conference Tourney Previews ACC

Over the next few days I am going to take a look at the big conference tourney’s coming up this week as we get ready for all the Madness that is March. There is going to be wall to all action starting on Tuesday an I will be there with you letting you know the best values to throw some cheddar on and build your bankroll leading up to The Big Dance.

(CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ON ESPN) SITE-GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA

CONTENDERS(CURRENT BET PHOENIX.COM LINE ON BOLD)

DUKE (-$125)- This is a Duke team that is capable of not losing again the rest of the way and has talent all over the court. The Blue Devils loss at Maryland a couple weeks ago was a misstep in a game they easily could have won, but Maryland is really the only team that can give them any trouble in this tourney and you can put it in the books that they will at worst get to the final.

MARYLAND (+$250)- Comes into the Tourney super-hot and with a lot to prove heading into the Big Dance. The Terps led by General Greives Vasquez and are riding high winning seven in a row to end the regular season. Gary Williams has a team that is capable of not only winning the ACC Tournament, but making a deep run in the NCAA Tourney.

LONG SHOTS WITH A CHANCE TO PULL IT OFF

FLORIDA STATE (+$650) The Noles are a bit of an enigma as at times this season they have looked like the class of the ACC and at other they have painstakingly inefficient. Leonard “Alexander” Hamilton's squad has the makings of a team that can make a run through the ACC Tourney, but it is going to take an almost flawless effort if they want to even get to the final game.

VIRGINIA TECH (+$800) Another team that is hard to read as Seth Greenberg’s bunch has had some great wins this season , but lots of dead spots in their schedule including losing three in a row before beating NC State and Ga Tech to end the regular season. It would be close to a miracle for the Hokies to win this tournament, but you can bet Seth Greenberg's bald head that they will go down swinging.

PICK- MARYLAND- Something just tells me the Terps will have the recipe to take down Duke in the likely final match-up and possibly end the Blue Devils hopes at a number one seed in the NCAA Tourney. This has been a team that has gotten steadily hotter as they made their way through the ACC schedule and the win over Duke in late February was one of the biggest this program has had since their national championship season in 2002. That win could very well be the edge the Terps need to take down Duke in what could be an epic final.
