(CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ON CBS) SITE-INDIANAPOLIS CONTENDERS(CURRENT BET PHOENIX.COM LINE ON BOLD) MICHIGAN STATE (+$150) The Spartans are loaded and have played some excellent ball late in the regular season, The big question mark though is are they going to have a meltdown at the worst possible time in a tight game like they did earlier this season? The answer is likely no , but that is the Spartans in a nutshell. A team that is on the verge of greatness, but right on the edge of proverbially crapping all over themselves. If you continue to read you'll see I am just giving you a hard time Sparty, I still think you’re the best team in the Big 10 and being a Michigan fan that is not easy to say, but you need to play to your ability or you will be letting down Kermit, the Geico Gecko Renaldo, and all other things green OHIO STATE (+$175)- The Buckeyes have one of the best if not the best players in the country in Evan Turner and the old adage of you can go as far as your best player takes you is very true for Ohio State. This is a team that can lull you to sleep and then stick the knife in your back. Just ask the 10 teams they beat over their last 11 games in the Big 10. Definitely right on par with the Spartans in being able to win this tourney and should be fun to watch them make their run. WISCONSIN(+$275) The Badgers will bring their red-clad beer drinking fan base with them to Indy and will need every bit of their support if they want to make a deep run as they have the talent to win the title, but with the way they slow down play and rely heavily on defense they will need to play close to perfect games if they play against teams like Michigan State and Ohio State. LONG SHOT WITH A CHANCE TO PULL IT OFF PURDUE(+$500) You have to feel for the Boilers who before All-Big Ten stud Robbie Hummel went down for the season had a legitimate chance at an NCAA Tourney number one seed. They have had a couple of weeks to come to terms with the loss of Hummel and could use the Big 10 tourney to reinvent themselves on the way to as possible deep run in the NCAA’s. This still is an ultra-talented team led by the sharp shooting E’Twaun Moore and inside-outside play of JaJuan Johnson and it wouldn't be out of the realm of Lord of the Rings possibility for them to make a stunning run in Indy. PICK- MICHIGAN STATE- Tom Izzo always has his teams ready to play in March and April and the tough early season non-conference schedule the Spartans play year in and year out benefits them greatly in these situations. Are they clearly the best team in the Big 10? By no means, but do they come in with what it takes to win this tournament and the epergne that it takes to do so…Absolutely! Look for Michigan State to put the petal to the metal from game one and make a stunning way through the filed en route to cutting down the nets in Indy.
