The surprising Huskies got by a very tough Marquette team in a game that should never have come down to the final seconds. The Lobos were in a tight win at the end against Montana that should have never been that close either so both teams have a lot to prove in this one featuring the young , but very athletic and talented Huskies and Steve Alford's lobos who are good enough to make a run to the Final Four if they play their best. This should be a fun game to watch and will be very high scoring and in the end it will be the Lobos depth and defense that pulls out the win in this one. PICK-NEW MEXICO +1.5 MIDWEST REGION 9-NORTHERN IOWA VS 1- KANSAS 5:40PM EST KANSAS -11.5 TOTAL 127 Kansas may be a big favorite in this one, but don’t sleep on the Panthers as they can shoot the three and clamp down on defense against the Jayhawks endless scoring options. This game though will be won in the middle as Northern Iowa doesn’t have a true big man that can cancel out Kansas star Cole Aldridge. The Panthers will keep this one close , but Kansas will just have to much for UNI to pull the major upset. PICK- NORTHERN IOWA +11.5 SOUTH REGION 11-OLD DOMINION VS 3-BAYLOR 5:45 PM EST BAYLOR -4 TOTAL 128.5 Old Dominion looked great in their upset against Notre Dame and are built to make a run in the tourney. The Baylor Bears came in with high hopes and needed a late push to fend off a very game Sam Houston team in the first round. Look for Scott Drew’s Baylor Bears to play much more up to their potential against the dangerous Monarchs in round two and though this will be a tight game throughout, the Bears are clearly the deeper team and should be able to pull away late to win by double digits. PICK- BAYLOR -4 WEST REGION 13-MURRAY STATE VS 5-BUTLER 3:20 PM EST BUTLER 4.5 TOTAL 128 Many thought the Racers were too sexy of an upset pick in the first round to be legit, but like I said from the day the match-up was announced, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE MURRAY STATE RACERS!!. This team is for real and now has won 14 of their last 15 games and is a true threat to get to the sweet sixteen. Butler looked great in the second half against a very game UTEP squad and showed that they are a threat to make a run as well. This could be the game of the tourney so far and you know there is always at least one surprise in the Sweet Sixteen and this year it will be a team named after a track meet PICK -MURRAY STATE +4.5
