| NCAA Sweet Sixteen Preview(Friday Games) Part2 |
In one of the most unlikely sweet sixteen match-ups in recent memories the Panthers and Spartans should give us one to remember on Friday night. The Panthers straight off their insanely improbable upset of overall number-one seed Kansas , come into this game with tremendous confidence and belief that they can beat anyone in this tournament. The Spartans who may have one of the best coaches of the last 25 years in Tom “H to the “ Izzo , just find ways to win no matter what the odds are against them. You saw them do it yet again when their star guard Kalin Lucas went down and they gave up a huge late lead to Maryland only to get it back and win the game on the final shot as time expired. It could be another classic finish Friday in St Louis has both these teams have what it takes to win this game and the Spartans will be undermanned without Lucas, but you have to believe Izzo will have his guys ready and Sparty will have just enough to pull this one out. PICK-MICHIGAN STATE -1 SOUTH REGION 1-DUKE VS 4-PURDUE 9:57 PM EST DUKE -8.5 TOTAL 127.5 Purdue may be a four seed and at one point in the season was working to be a top seed in March, but after losing their best player in the last few weeks of the season in Robbie Hummel, they are lucky to be just playing in this game. That being said you have to be impressed with the Boilermakers run through the tourney thus far and as they get set to face one of the best teams in the land in Duke, would it really surprise you if they were able to pull of the huge upset Friday night in H-Town! Duke has looked solid all tournament long and with their depth and ability to score are going to be tough for anyone to beat , but if you can get them to slow down and force them to take tough shots , they are very vulnerable as you saw in their losses to Maryland and Georgetown earlier this season. I do not see Purdue winning this game, but it is going to be ultra-close till the end with Duke very lucky to advance to their first Elite Eight since 2004. PICK-PURDUE + 8.5
