Federer Favorite @ Wimbledon

This coming Monday 21st it’s the start of a beautiful week of top class tennis at Wimbledon, all the big names in the sport will be present and the fight for the Wimbledon 2010 title will be fierce.

Mr. Federer has recently been named 1st seed at Wimbledon followed by Rafael Nadal as the second seeded, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Andy Roddick complete the top five seeded.

Roger Federer is everyone’s favorite to win this year title, which would mean his seventh overall in his career, but that will not be an easy task for the defending champ as other top rank competitors are determine to make history as well and will put up a good fight

The top 3 tennis giants favorite to take the title, are: Federer, Djokovic and Roddick, however Rafael Nadal current number one in the world is also a strong favorite to win the title on his return to the grass court after two years, when he became the first Spaniard to take the title in 2008 an achievement only accomplished by Manuel Santana in 1966.

Roger Federer will attempt to match the mighty Pete Sampras' record of seven titles at Wimbledon and Andy Murray will do whatever it takes to finally put an end to the 74-year home title-drought, an opportunity he lost in 2009 when Roddick defeated him in semi-finals.

Wimbledon 2010 promises to be a superb display of fabulous performances by the biggest and most respected names in the tennis world; however the soccer world cup 2010 that’s being held in South Africa will somehow affect attendance and viewing. At some point many suggested to adjust the Wimbledon championship schedule; however this would have disrupted the entire tour. Tournament official’s trust that the event will not suffer a significant set back due to its tradition and importance.

The official draws will be available Friday 18th after 2pm Eastern Time.
