#1 and 2 seed Andy Roddick and Juan Martin del Potro through to the final!

The first semi-final was a duel betwween south american,the chilian veteran Fernando Gonzalez vs 20 years old argentinian Juan Martin del Potro.The youngster showed he is different player in 2009 claiming his first victory against Gonzalez and doing so in straight sets 7-6,6-3.Del Potro was 0-3 overall to the chilian. In the second semi-final(all-american) Andy Roddick faced John Isner in what looked to be an easy match for the world #5.It turned out to be anything but easy as Isner took the first set in a tie-break but then seemed to suffer from the heat and humidity and Roddick broke twice to level the match, 6-2 in the 2nd set.Only one break of serve at 5-5 in the third allowed Roddick to serve it out and take the last spot in the final. Roddick had to battle the giants bombers Ivo Karlovic(6’10”) in quarter-final and John Isner (6’9”) in the semis,he will face another big man in the final,6’6” Del Potro.

Seeded 1 and 2 reached the final of the Legg Mason Classic in Washington D.C. World #5 Andy Roddick will be looking for his fourth title against defending champion world #6 Juan Martin del Potro,a great match-up.
