Nadal and Soderling will battle Sunday for Roland Garros title
Nadal and Soderling will battle Sunday for Roland Garros titleFifth seed Robin Soderling of Sweden, and second seed Rafael Nadal of Spain, got through their respective semi-final matches Friday afternoon in Paris to set up a re-match of 2009.

Last year, Soderling stunned the Spaniard in the fourth round of the French Open, becoming the first men to beat Nadal in Paris. This year, he’ll try to repeat the prowess to capture his first Grand Slam title.

Nadal will look to avenge the loss to claim his fifth Roland Garros title, and with the win return to No. 1 in the 2010 ATP Rankings.

It couldn’t get any better, both men will get on Court Philippe Chatrier Sunday with plenty of motivation. Check out the odds and betting lines at BetPhoenix.com Sportsbook and put a wager on your favorite in the French Open final.

Soderling was the first to book a spot in the final after a 6-3, 3-6, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.

The Swede rallied from a two set to one deficit to reach the Roland Garros final for the second straight year, and is guaranteed to rise to a career-high No. 6 ranking on Monday. He hit 62 winners for 63 unforced errors, converting 6 of 13 break point opportunities in a three hours and 27 minutes hard fought contest.

“Of course I could have lost the match,” admitted Soderling. “It was very close. It was really tough to play my own game, because he didn’t give me any time at all. He was hitting the ball really hard and really flat.”

Soderling fell to Roger Federer in last year’s final, he took revenge this year in the quarter-finals, becoming the first player to beat both Nadal and Federer at Roland Garros.

In the second Men’s Singles semi-final, Rafael Nadal defeated No. 22 seed Jurgen Melzer of Austria 6-2, 6-3, 7-6, extending his winning streak to 21 on clay courts this season.

He won the titles in Monte-Carlo, Rome , and Madrid to become the first player to win all three of ATP World Tour Masters 1000 on clay in the same season.

The victory over Melzer marked the third time Nadal has reached the final in Paris without dropping a set. He’ll now face the only man who ever beat him in the French capital.

“Soderling came back to win a very good match,” said Nadal. “He’s a very, very dangerous player. He’s one of the best in the world. Sure it’s going to be a difficult match.

“I know how I have to play to beat him, but I’m not speaking about tactics. I have to play my best tennis, and that’s what I going to try to do. I never believe in revenge. I try my best in every moment, and if I lose, I lose.”

With so much at stakes on Sunday, we’ll surely see the “king of clay” at his best.

I think that Nadal will claim his fifth French Open title Sunday, and regain the No. 1 spot in the process .

In the Men’s Doubles final, second seeds Daniel Nestor and Nemed Zimonlic will meet defending champions and No. 3 seeds Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes.
