Ivo Karlovic had never lost his serve in his four previous matches,Federer broke him in the 4th game of the 1st set and again in the 11th of the 2nd to take a 2 sets lead 6-3,7-5.Then Roger took the 3rd set 7-3 in the tie break for the easiest victory he could hope for against the always dangerous Karlovic.

Roger Federer is in his astonishing 21st consecutive Semi-Final of Gran Slam Tournaments,the closest is Ivan Lendl with 10.Records are there to be broken but this one may survive his great owner.

# 4 Novak Djokovic failed to pass his first real test of The Championships.Veteran Tommy Haas took him down in 4 sets 7-5,7-6,4-6,6-3.Haas showed his aggressive strategy from the start,rushing to the net on his serve,forcing Djokovic to return well and never letting him to get in any kind of rythm from the base line. Brilliant match from the german who reaches the Semi-Finals at Wimbledon for the first time in his career.Federer is his next opponent,Roger leads the series 9-2.

Comfortable win 7-5,6-3,6-2 for Andy Murray against Juan Carlos Ferrero,exactly what the doctor prescribed after the rough 5 setter with Wawrinka in the last round.Ferrero looked very flat and never put any pressure on his rival despite a break of serve on the first game of the second set.He gave it back with a double fault,the same way he gave away the first set. Andy Murray is through to the Semi-Finals,marching on for a place in history.

Roddick and Hewitt MAGNIFICENT !!!

A Classic between Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt in the last Quarter –Final of Wimbledon 2009.Roddick got the break of serve in the first set to win 6-3 but Hewitt leveled in a tie break on the second.Roddick regained the advantage taking the third set in another tie break as Hewitt seemed to be suffering from some discomfort on his inside left thigh.However the australian managed to win the fourth set 6-4 by shortening the points to force a fith definitive set.Dramatic conclusion as Roddick finally broke his rival at 4-4 in a breathtaking game and held to end this fabulous encounter 6-3,6-7,7-6,4-6,6-4.It is sad to see Hewitt exit The Championships but that’s tennis at its best and only one can survive. Andy Roddick and Andy Murray will battle in the Semi-Final on Friday for a place in the Final against Federer or Haas.

It seems that the dream Final Federer – Murray could happen as only one match separates them from the expected historic event.

Ladies’ Doubles

# 4 seeded Serena-Venus Williams are through to the Semi-Finals over Groenefeld-King 6-2,7-5. They will face # 1 Cara Black-Liezel Huber who defeated the spanish pair Vives-Martinez Sanchez 4-6,6-3,6-0.Great match in perspective.
